Murray BuchananSince being introduced to the game of croquet in 2017, Murray has taken quickly to a sport whose mental and technical demands he finds enticingly complex. While studying Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Cape Town, he started a student croquet club that has produced a new generation of croquet players in South Africa. Now finished his degree, the 23-year old Capetonian has, during the course of 2019, been developing an autonomous robot for the marine sector but hopes to travel next year before pursuing a career in robotics. While it may be the first international tournament the Rondebosch Croquet Club member has played in, he is eager to learn from the variety of styles he expects to find at the GC World Championships and determined to surprise a few people along the way.
